Koen de Boer is teamlid bij het Semco Style Instituut. Hij houdt zich daar bezig met de ontwikkeling van het Semco Style framework en faciliteert organisaties bij de transformatie naar een meer zelfsturend bedrijf waar klanten centraal staan en de werknemerstevredenheid hoog is.
Koen: ‘How you get people to perform at their best (in organizations or elsewhere) has always fascinated me. We still organize people on principles that were developed more than a century ago. Depending on how you see this, it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. However if you take into consideration that 87% of the workforce feels disengaged at work, one begins to wonder at the enormous loss of talent and potential…..I profoundly believe that employee engagement and performance are very much related or so to say “two sides of the same coin”. A hierarchical organized company doesn’t seem to bring out the full potential of people anymore. I am convinced self-organization is the answer we have been looking for.’
